24 August Export Ready Course prepares METS businesses for global success August 24, 2021 By Admin RIN General export, METS, Mackay, Isaac, Whitsunday, resources 0 Opportunities in the export market are growing at a rapid rate and businesses that diversify into the export market will be well positioned to act on any future opportunities, according to MIW METS Export Hub manager Dean Kirkwood, who today announced the commencement of a highly subsidised online Export Ready Course starting on September 1st. In a recent survey by Austmine of Australian METS businesses, Queensland generated one of the highest export revenue figures from minerals and mining activities. Mr Kirkwood said this represented an increase from previous years and demonstrated the growing opportunities in the export space for METS businesses and those who service the resources sector. “The time for businesses to act is now. Taking the first step into the global marketplace can be daunting, but the Export Ready Course provides a solid foundation in which to start. “One of the many functions of the Export Hub is to provide Mackay-Isaac-Whitsunday (MIW) businesses with the opportunities to expand their export capabilities. “This course covers a variety of aspects pertaining to the export market and engages the expertise of the Export Council of Australia,” he said. Participants learn how to successfully take their business global, learn from other METS businesses already exporting, build an export business plan, and participate in a digital workshop to help develop and deliver their business pitches. “So, if you’re interested in learning more about exporting and want to your business to be in a position to act when opportunities arise, the online Export Ready Course is a great place to start,” he said. “With funding assistance from the Local Buying Foundation, we have been able to heavily subsidise the cost of the course for participants. However, there are limited spaces, so we encourage you to register early.” More information about the Export Ready Course and the MIW METS Export Hub (facilitated by the Resource Industry Network) can be found here: https://www.resourceindustrynetwork.org.au/EXPORT-HUB/Export-Ready-Courses *ENDS* For further information, or to discuss interview opportunities please contact: Jodie Thompson - RIN Communications Manager P: 07 4952 4184 | M: 0408 638 968 Email: comms@resourceindustrynetwork.org.au Related Articles METS sector primed to capitalise on export potential with the release of the Regional Export Strategy MIW METS SME Export Hub releases Regional Export Strategy Association by coal – METS businesses ‘collateral damage’ in deluded climate change activism efforts To deny METS businesses access to insurance and lending based on their supply connections to coal does nothing to mitigate climate change.
