26 May Regional capability on show as Mackay METS innovators head to Perth for Austmine 2021 May 26, 2021 By Admin RIN General 0 A taste of the ingenuity from Mackay’s engineering, industrial and technology sector is currently on show in Perth this week as part of the Austmine 2021 Conference and Exhibition. A contingent of local METS businesses and industry representatives are attending the event as part of the Resource Industry Network’s Mackay Engineering, Industrial and Technology Hub stand. Austmine 2021 is one of the first major face-to-face conferences for the sector in more than 12 months and brings the latest in mining innovation to industry. Mackay METS businesses showcasing their innovations at the event include Diacon Australia, East West Lighting, and M&P Services. Resource Industry Network general manager Dean Kirkwood said the Perth event was another opportunity for Mackay’s METS businesses to demonstrate their innovative prowess. “We haven’t been able to do this for more than 12 months, so it is great to be back showcasing the region’s impressive capability. “Mackay is a leading global METS hub with world-class innovations. The Austmine event allows us to raise more awareness of our extensive capabilities and capacity as a sector, as well as show off specific individual innovations from local METS businesses. “The Austmine 2021 event is one of two national showcases that Resource Industry Network will be participating in during 2021. The other event will be AIMEX in Sydney in November, so if there are any other businesses interested in participating, they should contact us soon. “We are also spreading the word about the exceptional Resources Centre of Excellence facility and our newly-launched METS HQ platform, which is an online digital platform that provides a one-stop-shop for buyers globally to search and locate products and services from the region,” Mr Kirkwood added. The initiative has been made possible with funding from the Mackay Regional Council and the MIW SME METS Export Hub. *ENDS* For further information, please contact: Communications Manager - Jodie Thompson P: 07 4952 4184 M: 0408 638 968 Email: comms@rin.org.au Related Articles Mackay the resource sector’s regional powerhouse Mackay region in prime position to address solutions for a low emission economy METS sector primed to capitalise on export potential with the release of the Regional Export Strategy MIW METS SME Export Hub releases Regional Export Strategy Innovative METS businesses sought for Virtual Reality Showcase at QME Resource Industry Network, along with regional partners, is calling for EOIs for a VR Showcase stand at this year's Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition (QME).
